Why Coaching? Self Care. Being skillfully heard, seen, and supported helps you stand in your truth as you make courageous changes, with clarity and commitment.
I have a BA in Studio Art from CSUEB 1993. After graduation I taught in public schools for fifteen years. My teaching style has always included movement, improv games, music and art to enhance learning and creative inspiration. As a painter, using art as a modality for my own personal growth comes naturally to me. Most of my work features abstracted forms that become symbols for my life's questions and answers. For me, art-making is an exploration of psyche and an experiment with the Divine.
In 1999 I took a life-changing workshop led by Janet Thomas MFCC in Monterey, CA called BreakFree. For the next eleven years I co-led monthly workshops based on reevaluation counseling and other techniques. In 2007 I started a Women's Creativity Circle in Saratoga, CA. Using co-counseling and expressive art exercises, we enjoyed community and healing for three years. By 2009 I had also started Art for Personal Growth Workshops (more on this at zoyart.com).
I returned to Monterey in 2018 where I am privileged to teach, paint and work remotely as a Personal Growth Coach.
