Why ? Self Care. Being skillfully heard, seen, and supported helps you stand in your truth as you make courageous changes, with clarity and commitment.
About Me I have a BA in Studio Art from CSUEB 1993. After graduation I taught in public schools for twenty four years. My teaching style has always included movement, improv games, music and art. As a painter, using art as a modality for my own personal growth comes naturally to me. Most of my paintings and collage include figures and abstracted forms that become symbols for my life's questions. For me, art-making has always been an exploration of psyche and an experiment with the Divine.
In 1999 I took a life-changing workshop led by Janet Thomas MFCC in Monterey, CA called BreakFree. For the next eleven years I co-led monthly workshops based on reevaluation counseling and other techniques. In 2007 I started a Women's Creativity Circle in Saratoga, CA. Using co-counseling and expressive art exercises, we enjoyed community and healing for three years. By 2009 I had also started Art for Personal Growth Workshops (more on this at zoyart.com).
I returned to Monterey in 2018 where I am privileged to teach, paint and work remotely as an Art Personal Growth support person.
